How to present your business in three minutes

A simple four-part structure for presenting your offer to a room of business owners, and what to cut.

Three minutes feels short until you're the one talking. Most presentations run long because they try to cover everything. A good one covers four things and stops.

1. Who you help

Name the customer, not the industry. “Homeowners with older roofs after a storm” is easier to picture than “residential roofing services.”

2. The problem you solve

Describe the problem the way your customer would say it. People remember problems they recognize. They forget lists of services.

3. One real result

Share one specific outcome from a real customer: what changed, how long it took, what it was worth to them. One true story does more than five claims.

4. One next step

End with exactly what you want the room to do. Ask for an introduction to a specific kind of business, offer a free review, or invite people to a short call. Make it small and easy to say yes to.

What to cut

  • Your company history
  • Every service you offer
  • Industry jargon
  • Anything you'd only say to sound bigger

Practice it out loud

Time yourself on your phone. Most people need to cut a third of what they wrote. Practice until you can say it without notes, then practice again with the next step at the end.

In a Bizroom Networking Room, every member presents, and everyone gets the same amount of time, the host included. While you present, members can tap Connect to say they're interested or that they know someone who should hear from you.
